Dear Sir/Madame,
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude for a fantastic trip organized by your tour company in southern China from Dec. 30, 2011 - Jan. 5, 2012 (SH11-32C-J1230-A2). We really appreciate your fine arrangements and well-thought out sightseeing sites. We feel very fortunate to have a very thoughtful and hardworking tour guide, Connie Wang, to accompany us throughout the whole trip. Connie takes the initiative to care for the group and individual needs. For example, when I needed some medicine, she took me to a pharmacy to purchase what I needed. She called ahead of time to make sure that the store carried the medicine and she accompanied me in person to do the purchase while the local guide took the tour group to the restaurant. When some members commented that the food was too spicy, she ordered ahead and there was no more “too spicy” food for the rest of the trip. My daughter is a vegetarian and she ordered ahead of time to have vegetarian dishes available for her. She helped me to make phone calls for my flight. She worked overtime to help a grandma and her grandson to re-arrange their plane tickets. Connie speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English with a great sense of humour. She would take time to explain in English to my husband and daughter what they missed from the local guide. Connie goes above and beyond her call of duty to ensure that everyone in her group have a wonderful experience.
Connie works well with our cheerful driver. We received first class service being picked up and dropped off. I am really impressed with their time management because we were on time for every activity. During our last night’s visit in Shanghai, Connie and the driver took us to the Bund to enjoy the night lights. This bonus made everyone in the group feel extra special because the other groups did not have this privilege. Our group avoided the rush in checking in the hotel by taking a detour to the Bund. Connie is an active listener. She heard from some of us that we wished we could see the night lights of Shanghai so she made the arrangement with the driver. The arrangement of bus picked up at different time on the last day is very impressive. Since each family group departs at a different time, it took extra effort and organization to have us picked up. From the start to the end, Nexus holiday performed with high level of professionalism. Kudo to Nexus and your staff!
The bus driver is an extremely skilful operator. We felt very fortunate and safe to have him to take us around to so many cities and places. The bus was very comfortable and we appreciated the extra empty seats.
The local guides are all very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to introduce and share stories with us about their home town. The stories they shared are educational, fascinating and entertaining. One of the local guides was very enthusiastic and his voice level increased to a point that it became unpleasant or unbearable to some tour members. Under such circumstances, the guide could just lower the volume of the speaker because it could be a challenge to tell the local guide to lower their voice. I had visited a few Chinese local schools and I understand that all teachers speak with a clear and well-projected voice in class. On the other hand, overseas Chinese kids are not used to such a loud voice.
While we were in Suzhou, we took a very pleasant boat ride down the canal. We really enjoyed the sightseeing along the way. However, we were disappointed that at the end of the ride, we were not allowed to get ashore to stroll along that fascinating old town where an ancient temple stands. The promenades in Suzhou and Nanjing are cool and fun to visit. It would be great if we were given a bit more free time to explore.
The optional shows and boat rides are all great! May I suggest that you raise your fee to include these admissions? In your itinerary, it says that these visits are optional. However, it really is compulsory for everyone to join. Where is the tour member going to go or do if he/she does not join the show or boat ride?
The hotel in Hangzhou looks grand from the outside but the interior really needs attention. The room that we checked in was infested with mildew which made it uninhabitable. The mildew was caused by the poor structure of the tub that was leaking. We were grateful that the hotel manager upgraded us to an executive suite immediately when we pointed out the smell caused by the mildew.
Overall, we enjoyed the whole experience very much. All the meals were healthy and delicious. We managed to visit quite a few places within a short period of time. Shopping time could be shortened but we understand that it is also the business owners who sponsor the tour. Please warn the tourists ahead of time the importance to dress in layers and bring a warm coat because 6 degree C in China is a lot cooler than what we are used to in Canada. The humid cold air is chilling to the bone if one is not dressed properly.

Just a short note to give you feedback on our trip to China.
It was very well organized tour, led by our National tour guide Leo(what is his last name?), who was excellent. Our group size (17) was very good, and we got on very well and became good friends.
The tour itinerary was good, except for Hangzhou, Wuxi and Suzhou where we visited a lot of gardens. These gardens are probably great in Spring, but in November nothing is in bloom and they are dreary. I did not like visiting the Factories and shops (because I am not a shopper) and I think we spent too much time at these places.
Unfortunately we had overcast weather and slight rain from Day 1 (Beijing) to Day 10 (Shanghai). We had brilliant sunshine in Guilin and it was the best part of our trip and our guide Lily (Zhang Lidai) was very accommodating and helpful.
All our local guides were excellent and very informative and friendly.
I would like recommend that your itineraries, include some time to experience the life in the cities and mingle with the locals. Xian at night is beautiful, but we did not have any time to wander the streets.
China of course was very impressive, so much progress in such a short time! Definitely would like to go back.
I will definitely recommend Nexus Holidays to my friends.

A quick note to let you know that we had a wonderful time on the Nexus Holidays 21 days in China.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the wonderful culture, art, and fascinating cities there. It was very different from what we expected and has opened our minds to the new, emerging China.
The hotels were excellent (except the one in Guilin which was just okay). The food was representative of the quisine of the areas we visited.
The daily tours were all excellent and the regional guides well chosen. Our guide, George Xie, was exceptional. Do you have an e-mail address where we can write to express our appreciation of his services to his "boss".? He was competent, kind, well organized, had a wonderful sense of humor and extremely knowledgable about his country. I cannot compliment him enough about his efficient managing of our tour group.

I am just writing to tell Nexus about the good quality of care we received on our China holiday. Danny the national guide was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, he did everything possible to answer all our requests and to ensure our tour ran smoothly. He gave us extra support when our daughter's flight was delayed from Shanghai and she missed her connection at Bejing for London, this was very worrying for us. Danny contacted Nexus who ensured a representative met our daughter at Bejing airport to ensure arrangements were made for another flight and he kept us up to date with what was happening. This additional help meant we were able to continue on our own tour knowing our daughter was being assisted at Bejing and was safe.
The local guides were very knowledgeable and their friendly manner in which they provided all the information, support and guidance ensured we had an enjoyable trip.
All the Nexus staff worked hard to ensure the holiday was a success for everyone and we had a fabulous time.
The hotels were of a very high standard the food was excellent and the staff attentive.
However, given there was 3 of us sharing our room, and we did pay for 3 people, some hotels did not take this into account, and we and were rather cramped. The Minya hotel, our room was next to a very noisy generator and was cramped, we had insufficient pillows and when we rang reception they were unhelpful; and did not return our call, we asked for a change of room, but this could not be offered until the next day. The hotel staff were not responsive.
A constructive comment would be, we would have chosen not to attend the chinese medicine in Bejing as this took too much of our time (this should be optional rather than inclusive).
We would have liked more time in Xian and Shanghai - there was not enough time to see these amazing cities.
Guilan was spectacular : I would have enjoyed another day here, particularly as this was at the end of a tiring tour, it would have been good to have had a little more time to relax and view more of this area.

Hi Dana and Bright,
I wanted to thank you for arranging such a wonderful tour for the Mississauga Camera Club. I know that all your China tours are excellent, but the extra considerations that we were given made our trip fabulous. There were many aspects that made me feel we had extra special treatment, but I will mention two in particular.
Our trip to the Great Wall was superb! The early start time and the more remote location allowed us to get pictures with no one else present, and the extra time we were spent on the Great Wall made me feel that we didn't just visit it, but we experienced it in a way that few tourists do.
We were treated like royalty at the site of the Terra Cotta Warriors. Our bus was driven right up to the museum so we did not have to walk from the parking lot. We felt really privileged to be able to get into the area where we could up close with the figures that were being restored. Our local guide Linda was so knowledgeable and shared her information so well with us that it made a very rich experience for us.
Our National Guide Tony was so much more that I expected. He frequently made adjustments to our schedule so that we had a better experience. He was always patient with those of us who wanted to take just one more picture, and managed to keep us on schedule. Having done a lot of travel on our own, I really appreciated how well he managed the tedious business of travel, checking into hotels, getting boarding passes for planes, transferring us to the local tour buses. He has the perfect personality to be a tour guide, and we were lucky to get him.
All of our bus drivers were excellent; we always felt safe and were frequently impressed with their ability to maneuver in tight spaces.
I have just a couple of suggestions.
We found many of the beds quite hard, and often readjusted the bedding, putting the ever present duvet underneath us and sleeping under the the bottom sheet. This helped, and you could add that to you list of suggestions.
There was some confusion about what to do with the transfer vouchers between the airport and the hotel in Hong Kong (we really missed Tony!). We finally realized that there were identical vouchers for both trips. Perhaps you could label one voucher "Airport to Hotel" and the other "Hotel to Airport" so that it is clearer that we need one for each bus trip.
We will be putting together several different shows that combine all of our best pictures and will send you copies. Hopefully we will have a China night at the club and present some of them. Let me know if you would like to come to that meeting.

I am writing to express my appreciation to the excellent service of Ms. Wang Fang (or Huang Fong) our tour guide from Shanghai. She accompanied us for the entire trip. Among all the tour guides we have met so far in this trip and other trip, she is the best. She works very hard. Not only is she articulate, she also put people at ease. She has the capability to make each members of the tour group, regardless of their age, to feel belong and together. She also handles adverse situation on the bus well. She has fought and protected the group as if they are her children. Each of my family member speak highly of her. I am sure others would feel the same. At the end of the trip, we were sorry to bid her farewell. Besides this, she was diligent to promote Nexus Holidays to the group members and pledge the same service to any people we may send along her way. I am sure you have already taken notice of her. Please convey our sincere appreciation to her.
Another thing I would like to convey is about the itinerary. There may be reasons we don't really know. I believe it may be better to avoid putting the tour of the EXPO in Shanghai in a weekend. I am sure there may be less people during a weekday, thus making it easier for the tourist to compete for entrance.

I am back from my travels and just wanted to thank you both for arranging my train ticket at the busiest time of the year. Many people that I met commented on how they were stuck with no chance of getting away, all transport being fully booked for the national holiday.
I spent some time in Guilin and Yangshuo and rented bicycles to get out into the beautiful rural countryside - that scenery is what comes to mind whenever I think of China.

My family has travelled to China 3 times in the past 6 years with different tour operators, and I can honestly say that this time was the best one we have experienced. Your local services, hotels, meals, the sights, history and people in China and Southeast Asia were quite simply amazing!
I also think it is worth making a special mention to our national tour guide in China, Peter Li. Not only was his knowledge and organization first rate, but his enthusiasm, and sense of humour was fantastic. On some of the early morning starts when everyone was sitting on the bus a little downcast due to the hour of the morning, to see Peter bounding in with a huge smile on his face talking enthusiastically about the day ahead really lifted the whole group.
In years to come I will be able to look back on this trip, and reminisce about the amazing sights of Asia and the experiences! I have made. You have now got yourselves an un-official sales rep as I am telling all my fiends that that should be contacting your company now if they are planning a tour to China and Asia.

We had a wonderful time and saw so much -- we really got a good sense of the culture of China and saw many wonderful examples of Feng Shui in the historic buildings and gardens. It was also amazing to see how China is changing and the extraordinary new building and development in its cities.

The hotels, by the way, were all very nice and the western breakfasts were
extensive and a good way to prepare for our demanding days of touring.
It was good to have such good accommodations as it helped us all be more
fully rested after our full days. The food throughout the trip was also

All in all a beautiful, well executed 2nd trip for us and we’ll go again if opportunity represents itself. TIBET was so exciting and the River Cruise also extraordinary beautiful. We took an optional tour to Suzhou. I feel it’s too far to drive and our visit to silk factory was a little bit too long, which gave us not enough time to enjoy Zhou Zhuang which we enjoyed and would have liked to spend another three hours there with time 1-2 hours to shop along the canals. It’s a really beautiful place. But as an optional tour to two places in one day, we knew we could not ask for too much. We also very enjoyed a trip to the local food market. I would give a “A” for all of our local guides in Xi’an, Lhasa, Chengdu, Yangtze Cruise and Shanghai. Really 5 star program and service! |

I am writing to express my appreciation to the excellent service of Ms. Wang Fang (or Huang Fong) our tour guide from Shanghai. She accompanied us for the entire trip. Among all the tour guides we have met so far in this trip and other trip, she is the best. She works very hard. Not only is she articulate, she also put people at ease. She has the capability to make each members of the tour group, regardless of their age, to feel belong and together. She also handles adverse situation on the bus well. She has fought and protected the group as if they are her children. Each of my family member speak highly of her. I am sure others would feel the same. At the end of the trip, we were sorry to bid her farewell. Besides this, she was diligent to promote Nexus Holidays to the group members and pledge the same service to any people we may send along her way. I am sure you have already taken notice of her. Please convey our sincere appreciation to her.
Another thing I would like to convey is about the itinerary. There may be reasons we don't really know. I believe it may be better to avoid putting the tour of the EXPO in Shanghai in a weekend. I am sure there may be less people during a weekday, thus making it easier for the tourist to compete for entrance.
